Me and my fiance are thinking about getting married in N.O., were both in California right now. We have both been to New Orleans and lived in Mississippi, so were familiar with the South for the most part.

She seems to have found a place in New Orleans to have a wedding at an affordable price, City Park. Can anyone tell me anything about this location for a wedding, and its surrounding area, as we would have people coming in from California and Mississippi. Thank you in advance....

City Park is one of the largest public parks in the country. It did suffer some serious damage during Katrina. There are some nice parts and some not so nice parts. I know there was a problem with homeless tent cities popping up in the park. My wife and I got married in NOLA and we had everyone stay in the French Quarter. It was great. I'm not saying you shouldn't look at City Park, just do a lot of research first. Everyone is pretty much guaranteed to have a good time in the Quarter. One other thing to consider, are you going to have an outdoor or indoor wedding? Where in City Park has she found for your wedding?
