I'm glad someone else has a sense of humor.

I moved to Constance street, it's uptown and not in the quarter.

Too much to deal with there, Marigny and Bywater are my other spots to live if I had my say.

I was also wondering if there are any gangs in New Orleans or other cities in Louisiana.

Yes, there are gangs in New Orleans. If you can afford it, get a Louisiana gun permit and a hand gun for your own protection. A local man's home was vandalized by his neighbor's kids. He took his gun out his home and sat on his lawnchair in his driveway long enough for his neighbors to see him. Three things happened with his actions. The first was those kids never set foot on his property ever again. The second is he now no longer has to hear them blasting their rap music at all hours of the day and night. The third thing that happened is those neighbors and their friends/relatives no longer stand around outside the house being loud enough for him to hear them within his brick home. Those kids are now in jail until they turn 18.

I've never in my life (that I can remember) heard of random street gang activity in NOLA. Maybe the mafia here and there (but never in the form of groups of young adults or teens commiting random crime or murders). Yes there is random crime in NOLA and yes there are alot of murders but the majority of them are drug related or between people who know each other. I have however heard of so-call (blood-crip street etc. gangs) in other parts of Louisiana though.

I'm not saying that they aren't here in N.O. .. I'm just saying if they are they haven't made a major presence or maybe I just live in a bubble. The only thing I can think of even close to that are rival housing projects clashing.

Either way it would be wise like Sailordave to get a gun permit.. you would probably never use it, but if you had to you would be ready
