Help! I lived in Destrehan 20 years ago when I was a teenager, future hubby's never been there, so I want to show him this amazing city and see it again myself. We are coming down around time for Mardi Gras to get married. Does anyone have any ideas on locations for a small informal wedding ceremony for just the two of us? Any hotel recommendations in the French Quarter that are special but won't break the Bank? ANY other ideas to make the week we'll be there unforgettable -- not that it wouldn't be -- we ARE getting married after all! Special things to do? Already talked to the Riverboat Natchez about the dinner cruises, was told about the Restaurant Bella Luna, remember going to Court of Two Sisters, Augie's, and Antione's... Any ideas, advice, ANYTHING on your great city would be SO appreciated -- money saving hints, too! Thanks so much in advance!

New Orleans is great! Nice place to get married but you are not going to find anything cheap in the Quarter during Mardi Gras, the ole supply & demand. Some of those hotels are booked months and months in advance for Mardi Gras..

Call reverand Tony, he is most helpful when it comes to weddings in New Orleans... He has his own and only chapel in the Quarters.

My husband and I are from Florida but decided to go get married in New Orleans in 1996, we had a wonderful ceremony at The Chimes Bed and Breakfast in the Garden District (it is still there and same owners, can find them in google), they have a nice courtyard, it was perfect. Has a cake and toast afterwards right there and then went out to dinner, the owner is head waiter at Arnones (sp?), very nice restaurant. Take a horse and buggy ride after dinner, what great memories I have....They also helped line up a judge who married us, it was wonderful and it took as we are still happily married!!!
