Being from Chicago, we have the Blue Brothers are our #1 movie that showcases our character and really explores every avenue of the city for an outsider to see.

Does New Orleans have a movie like this?

Only thing I could remotely think of was Love song for Bobby Long and I don't think they show enough or provide a central feeling of the city as a whole.
That or Streetcar, but again it show nothing by way of the city itself; just a few famous one liners.

There was a murder mystery shot some years ago in the Quarter, can't remember the title (maybe the 1980-1995 time frame?). It might have had Ellen Barkin in it, or Dennis Quaid. It was perfect.

Default Aha!

That movie was The Big Easy...classic New Orleans, I always liked the movies that showcased New Orleans more historically, like Interview with a Vampire hmmmm...there is also the The Last Holiday with Queen Latifah and The Skeleton Key with Kate Hudson...clearly I watch too many movies!

How about "Angel Heart"? Definitely different, and NOT for everybody.

I've seen Angel Heart and hated it personally.

I love horror/thrillers etc and I just didn't like it at all.

I love it, even own it. Aren't people different?

The let-down for me was "Big Easy". Thought it was boring.

"Heaven's Prisoners" is a consideration.

I like the Love Song for Bobby Long movie- it first got me intrigued with N. O.- but I've never been there.
