What kinda of things is there to do over there? I'm from Florida, so is there much to do there as Miami or more? I know ya'll got the Mardi Gras. I only seen the bad part of N.O. When I drove through.

Miami is hot chicks and night clubs.
New Orleans has culture, great music and better food.

There are bad parts but if you come and spend some time and money, you're only helping the city get back on it's feet.

I agree. It's just as good a time to visit New Orleans as it was before, because anything that tourists go to enjoy are up and running!

There is plenty of sight-seeing of historical areas, old graveyards worth visiting and photographing, interesting museums, a great zoo, French Market, great drives (like the River Road drive to see the old plantations), swamp tours, French Quarter, and there is music everywhere. New Orleans are my most feel-good vacations because it's a happy place in spite of the tragedy and the poverty. There are festivals of various kinds throughout the year. (This year we're going to Jazz Fest!)

I could go into detail of what there is to see and do, but instead I'll recommend a very good tour guide: National Geograph's New Orleans.

Cuban food is good, but can't hold a candle to creole cuisine. IMNSHO.

Most of the time, food is a matter of what you grew up with and what your mom cooked for you.
However, once you sample New Orleans food, you just want to slap your mom. (just kidding)
The memory of New Orleans lingers on until the next time you have some more.

The kingpin is a great neighborhood bar, paradoxically, makes you want to travel across town to go there. Play darts or just sit at the bar, bending your elbow and marveling at the layers of memorabilia covering the walls, a New Orleans education in itself and also you can visit FYIfly.com to know more about current event happening in New Orleans.
