Thanks in advance for taking the time to answer this! I am a professional who is relocating to New Orleans, where I will work in Slidell. I am looking for a small inexpensive studio or 1 Br place that would be willing to rent out for 6-10 weeks possibly starting in late Jan early Feb. I am only looking to rent for a long enough time to get situated, and find a larger place when my wife will join me there. I would like to keep the distance to Slidell under 45 minutes if possible, and would like to have a somewhat safe neighborhood. I've been looking on Rent.com, but so far, haven't found what I'm looking for. I'm imagining a small, privately owned property would be the way to go, but just don't know a substantial amount of people yet to ask. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Thank you

Try Lake One it think they have executive apartments that may fit that criteria. Tonti is another large apartment conglomerate. I'm afriad anything in Kenner Metaire area will be a 1 hour or more drive to Slidell as you would have to cross new orleans to get to slidell. New Orleans East would fit the criteria however there are few units available and most not in family freindly areas. I do know of a private home here in Metairie and I think owner would accept a short term rental.
