I am moving to NO for work, and am not from the area. I am just seeking a small, inexpensive studio apartment to rent on a month to month basis until I can find a larger, more permenant residence for my wife to join me in when she moves down here. I don't need anything fancy, and am only looking for a place for 6-10 weeks. Does anyone have any ideas?

Thanks in advance

Michael

Try a local realtor with one of the big-name agencies; they may be able to set you up with a short-term furnished corporate rental. Most of the small landlords are going to want a 1 year commitment.

My friend lives in Metairie. It's safer than the city. Rent is expensive though.

I've got plenty of friends who live/lived in Metarie.
It's just like any other bland suburb.

True, but it's only ten miles from N. O, and it is safer.
