Cool shots of water spout over Lake Pontchartrain last night so close to shore it is lit up by city lights. Photos courtesy of News, Weather and Sports for New Orleans | News and Weather for New Orleans | wwltv.com .

Cool shots. Waterspouts are neat (until they hit dirt and become tornadoes, that is. LOL).

I just found a video online at CNN that was taken by two high school students who "followed" the spout: Video - Breaking News Videos from CNN.com

Um.. the next question is who's going to give two teens who were speeding down the streets a ticket for speeding like that?

Why does everyone have to put down something cool? They were chasing down a water spout. I would speed to get to it as well. I wouldn't want the government stealing money for a pretty ridiculous offense.

Maybe I missed it (watched twice) but where exactly did it show them speeding? The squealing tires? My tires squeal if I turn too sharp even at legal speeds...didn't when they were new but that's another story. Did you see posted speed limit signs? Also, the little bit of driving I saw in the vid (three seconds maybe? the rest was on foot) seemed typical of driving in that part of the country...

To the OP...awesome pics, thanks!

OMG! My little sister (29 years old) called me crying saying a tornado was coming and in front of her house.
