Hoe many new or converted condo's or apartments have been built in New Orleans in the last year or so. What part of town or the metro area.

How come major home builders like DT Horton, KB Homes, Toll Bros or Centex don't build in NOLA

Don't know the exact #, but the entire stretch of Tulane in Mid-City has been dotted with them.
Can't answer the 2nd question

There isn't the huge amount of land that big buuilders need to make a profit. They can't make it on one house here, another house there, etc. Big builder need to build 100+ houses in a development. New Orleans is built out for the most part, unless you like swampy land in N.O. East.

KB was in New Orleans, but frankly after owning one of their houses elsewhere...they are crap.

KB purchased a builder that was building in the Rivergarden development.
Most condos are historic renovation and companies like HRI Properties develop such buildings.
