Hi, I used to live in Plaquemine many years ago and love good ol' cajun food. I'm visiting New Orleans (near the convention center) for work, which is my first return to Louisiana in many, many years.

I'm dying for good authentic gumbo and jambalaya. Shrimp Ettoufee too. I prefer a place that locals go to v. touristy restaurants or fancy places.

Any suggestions? I'm not going to have a car, so if it is within a reasonable walking distance or short cab ride it would be great.
