Plans for building Trump Tower in New Orleans are officially dead | NOLA.com

Well, the Trump Tower is officially canceled. Can't say I wasn't surprised, though. Would've been a great addition to the skyline.

He needs to reconsider buiding it. New Orleans is becoming a place where professionals want to be and are willing to pay good money to live in the downtown/cbd/warehouse district...not to mention a skyscrapper with his name on it, potential residents will be knocking down the door to live there just to say they live in a "Trump Tower".

Trump has no say so whether or not if it was getting built. A company pays him to use the name. The tower would've soaked up the residential market for at least a decade. It would have stopped the projects currently going on like the Oil & Gas building on Poydras and 100 Elk* from getting renovated. A new tower would be nice but I'd rather see it in the form of a HQ setting up shop in the CBD.
