I'm taking an apartment in the Garden District Dec. 1. Few questions:

1. Internet Service Provider, High speed, dependable. Who am I gonna call? Currently, my cellphone provider is AT&T and I bundle my DSL and landline all in one sort of package deal.

2. How long is the grace period before I have to get a Louisiana car tag?

3. My partner enjoys kayaking and I saw on another thread something about a marsh that is very nice to kayak in. Any details/name of the marsh/entry and exit points? He also likes golf. A lot. What are prices like for the public courses? What is the closest course to the Garden District? I'm thinking Audubon probably.

4. Free form ~ anything else you'd like to add, either in a "Things I wish I'd known..." or "Definitely Do This", sort of vein are welcome.

Thanks in advance! Looking forward to living in the city that I've enjoyed off and on since I was a wee child

1. AT&T. Cox has ok service but their customer service isn't

2. Legally 30 days. Wait as long as you can as you will have to pay a portion of your car's value as a tax to the state. Quite pricey...many people stay on their old tags for up to a year.

3. Audubon is closest course I can think of...

4. Have fun...and don't watch too much local news to start with...
