Any drawl in the New Orleans area is on the North Shore and a few in the river parishes...very few in the city itself. Perhaps a trace of one within that circle of old money in up town, but they are far from Brooklynese.

Folks in the Irish Channel used to say dis, dat, dem, dose, ersyter, and erl (oil). Sounded Brooklynese to Southerners.

Don't forget to get dem clothes out da lockuh and wrench dem out in da zink before ya wash em! Man I love it when I talk to one of those old chain smoking old ladies with a rough voice and that old time yat accent. Did they have anything like that in the movie?

Yes. I remember that New Orleanese doesn't have drawls.

Anybody seen the movie?
