Hey Southern, perhaps your son is like mine, can't find anything past his nose! (There was crawfish at Today's Catch in Chalmette yesterday and they are taking orders.)

Well, he made up for it by taking me along w/them to his father's step-son's house where they had fried turkey - done in the backyard w/a winch to be safe. Wonderful food in that side of the family. We have a very civilized divorce and I frequently spend holidays w/ex and wife and kids and grandkids.

There is a restaurant off Bourbon Street (on Conti) that we really like called "Oceana". The food is delicious and so is their bread pudding w/rum sauce. However, the service can be really $hitty at times.

We loved Jacques-Imo's on Oak St on our trip to NO in October. But it's a bit of a hike from downtown/French Quarter. But the food was so worth the trip!

Try the shrimp and gator cheesecake.
