Has anyone seen Steven Segal, Lawman, a new series on the A&E Network? Actor Steven Segal apparently has been a reserve deputy in the Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office for the last 20 years. He now stars in this new series and is identified as an Assistant Deputy Chief. He rides around in an unmarked vehicle with other high ranking officers, a colonel and a captain, and they go after the bad guys. It seems unrealistic that under normal circumstances, so many high ranking officers would consistently ride around together to seek out the bad guys. Even so, I find the show interesting because I'm a Louisiana native and lived in Jefferson Parish from 1962 to 1976. I've been looking for filmed landmarks that I recognize and have seen the downtown New Orleans skyline, St. Louis Cathedral, the Mississippi River, and the Huey P. Long bridge. They seem to show a lot of scenes of New Orleans, even though the show is supposed to be about the Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Department, but I'm not surprised that they do so. Steven Segal seems to have put on a lot of weight. Check it out if you haven't seen it.

I've only seen one episode and didn't like it. During that one episode I mostly saw Gretna, although they did flash random shots of the skyline and the crescent city connection on the episode.

Yes, Ive seen it. You're right, they seem to pan the camera on the NO skyline often. I've been a PO for the last 21 years. Rarely have I seen high ranking officials working street duty like that. Gee you think the camera has anyhting to do with it? Ha Ha!!! Everyone wants to be famous.

Hi Roller2200,

I agree that if it wasn't for the camera, you would not see high ranking officers patrolling the streets together like that.

Thank you for your service to your community as a police officer. You put your life on the line each day and your work is appreciated.

I wonder if Segal was on duty after Katrina? If not, why not?

A big thanks for your service from the Fury house too! My dad's dad was with NOPD and JPSO (highly decorated sharpshooter) and my mom's dad was a State Trooper. He was also in the OSS before it was the CIA! Man I wish they were still with us. The stories they could tell would fill a very big book.

I'm gonna tell tales out of school, (and not mention names), but there were some deputies in a certain parish who were having a conversation about this very topic and the general consensus was .

I'd also like to mention that the first responders of a certain parish would like to have a word with that jerk on Survivor claiming to be a fireman during Katrina. The general consensus on that topic is .
