can someone tell me what area is the 'south jefferson davis pkwy' in? Is it downtown or elsewhere? Is it a safe area? is street parking free or for pay?

Mapquest can give you a pretty good idea as to where this street is located.

Mid-City/Gert Town

Plenty of free parking when available. Safety depends on which block you're in.

Do you know what hundred block you'll be on? There is a good deal of not good area on S Jeff Davis and some good area on S Jeff Davis. Pretty much if you are near Canal and to the east it's good, but anything heading uptown can be sketchy and depends, like WB said, on what block you are going to be.

thanks everyone, i googled it and it looks pretty good but I cant tell how safe it is. It's near the fox 8 news building. ill be in the area in few days and just wanting to make sure I know where I am.

As long as kindafedup stays in the blocks with WVUE and Xavier, then they should be ok. However, I wouldn't take a random walk in the uptown direction if I wasn't familiar with that area. Like Drouzin said, it gets better in the downtown direction.
