The profile of the rivalry is definitely on the rise. In recent years I have seen Saints-Falcons mentioned in several articles about the NFL's best rivalries. And I have also noticed that the game is featured pretty often in prime-time and showcase games like Sunday Night Football and Monday Night Football.

The NFL is a quarterback driven league, and the two teams have a couple of the best quarterbacks in the league with Drew Brees and Matt Ryan (the same can be said for another NFC south team with Cam Newton with the Panthers). If the Saints and Falcons can continue their success of recent years I definitely think this game will continue to rise in national prominence. Meeting in the playoffs (or at least late regular season games with playoff implications) would also help. It is kind of too bad the second Saints-Falcons game this year is in November instead of a few weeks later.

There's a lot of residual hatred for the 49ers, but I don't really feel that. And in my opinion, if you don't hate the Cowboys, then you better live in Dallas, else you're doing it wrong.
Poor, poor Panthers...

Well, maybe the Panthers will matter..like this season already.
I think that with Carolina & Tampa Bay on the rise, the NFC South could become a powerhouse of a division soon.
The division already rates well for what it's teams have achieved in the last 15 years for making Super Bowl appearances. Several of the other divisions fail to match the achievemnet of the NFC South in that all of the 4 teams have played in the Super Bowl in the last 15 years.

How is Tampa on the rise? I thought Freeman was going to be great, but he's fizzled. And until Can Newton stops acting like the prom queen, the Panthers will remain irrelevant.

KC exposed a weak pass defense . I didn't see the whole game , but at one point they were getting picked apart .

McCown looked confident. Tanner looked like a beast and I heard Vaccaro played well.

All I can say is if we can't keep Rob Ryan away from the camellia grill and Po Boy shops, he may go into "involuntary retirement" before the year is up.
