Why Rob Ryan is still with the Saints as their defensive coordinator is a boondoggle. If the defense remains unchanged in progress, the Saints should make a change in defense coordination.

The only encouraging thing about tonight was that most of those guys won't make the team.

As a neutral observer, I hate to say it, but I think the Saints as we've known them are finished. Drew Brees is aging, and the rest of the team has fallen apart due to salary cap problems. At this point, I think the Saints should consider blowing the team up and rebuilding with a long-term focus. It's either that or watch the team stagnate in the twilight of Brees' career. Expediting the rebuilding process could make the Saints contenders again by 2020.

They have rebuilt it...
new secondary, new dline, new oline, new WRs. The only constants are Colston and Brees and a few older guys.

Drew might be aging, but from the little bit I've seen of him in preseason, he hasn't lost a step. If some of these younger guys can step up, I think we could be ok. From what I've seen in the preseason, I'm not very confident that's going to happen. We'll find out soon enough.

The few minutes this preseason that Brees played, the team looked pretty good.

Remember: Drew Brees is Running Wild with Bear Grylls on Monday night at 9:00.

To be fair, the team is really young. Had to go into a very hostile stadium with 25 players who hadnt ever played a regular season snap, against a healthy superbowl contender.

^ Yep. This definitely isn't a super bowl caliber team from what I saw yesterday.
