Bustaduke is doing just fine if he is where he shows he is, lol. I am going to have to check
out these Parcs, the banter has me intrigued. But it does sound like a lot of security, and
of course, you'll need it. But the whole 'card works here not over there' deal kind of seems
to fly in the face of what they all proposed when these developments started. Kind of
an 'everybody is gonna love living together' kind of deal......

(wood-like floors , lol.) actual statement on the website.

Y'all should be fine. Just keep all those contact numbers on speed dial

GREAT APARTMENT HOME. VERY SECURE AREA. I've lived in the property for about a year. This is a great area. I've heard about how the area used to be. It has been totally transformed.

You can rebuild it completely as they did but it's still the projects when all is said and done.

busta
Youre Jus another negative person that we don't need in our city. That whole area, columbia parc, is completely different from any project ever built in this city. Its NOT the projects despite what you mite say. There are people back there that work 40+ hour weeks and bring home good money. McDonogh 35 Blue Ribbon Magnet High School is being built a block away and will be great there ...not to mention the school they're gonna build on site... there are a few people on section 8 there, but they still have to pay so much in rent to go with their voucher...I rent a house to a section 8 recipient and that doesn't mean that they are bad people

This new community is absolutely gorgeous. No one even knows it was the St. Bernard PJs until someone else(a native) mentions it. This place has a movie theater, fitness center, 2 meeting rooms, computer center, etc.

Its impeccable, believe me. Better yet, google "Columbia Parc New Orleans" and check out the photo gallery on their website. My wife and I loved it their before we moved to Marrero. For our kids, we loved the interactive splash pad with super-sized keyboard like in the movie "Big".

I'd say the absolute best thing is that its mixed income DONE RIGHT! Unlike River Garden, you don't have to worry about a large number of specific unemployed Section 8 tenants hanging out all day on the porch/balcony drinking and trashing the complex(These are just observations; Not a generalization of all Section 8 recipients. I wouldn't do that). Section 8 tenants are allowed, but not beyond a certain percent AND all adults over the age of 18 are required to work. There's even placement assistance for those who need help finding work. I especially appreciate that as a husband and father of small children.

I'd recommend this community to anyone! We only left because we got such a phenomenal deal on a 3/2 single in Marrero

^^^They had an article in the Times-Picayune the other day talking about how Columbia Park is a national model for mixed income redevelopments. Hopefully it is as good as people say and it continues to stay on the right track.

Yep its true. Even Warren Buffett and President Obama, on separate occasions, visited Columbia Parc to see how well their model of mixed-income housing works

That sounds fantastic. I wanted to live there but I figured it would just as bad as River Garden. Is this the model that the Iberville will follow? We need this in Baton Rouge!
