Hi all, I did a search but couldn't find the answer to what I wanted to ask and was hoping you could help me!

I was wondering what the Broadmoor area is like? I have seen a fair amount of apartments available there which seem to be a lot closer to my budget. I remember seeing someone saying they lived in that area. Can you give me an idea of what the area is like? I'm looking for a 2 or 3 br place with offstreet parking, relatively quiet/nice neighborhood but still really want to live in the city. I'm heading over there to drive the area this weekend but wanted to see what your thoughts were.

Thank you so much in advance!
~Fran

I just moved to the Broadmoor area and it's one of the nicest parts of the city, in my opinion. We found a great one bedroom shotgun which could be a two bedroom, I suppose, if you didn't need a dining room. It's in a raised double, so we have garage/ "basement" space below. We do have offstreet parking for one car (not counting the garage).

The houses here are GORGEOUS and the architecture is varied. It feels very safe - in fact, the guy who lived here before us never locked his doors and, while I wouldn't be that stupid anywhere, I have left things on the front porch overnight and they've never been touched. All the neighbors will smile and talk to you when they see you, and I frequently see people walking, running, pushing strollers and walking dogs. I highly recommend it.
