Apartments in New Orleans, Metairie, Louisiana and Mississippi

We're living at the Creeks in River Ridge right now, and we love it so far. Nice apartments, neighborhood feels plenty safe, and the folks in the office are great about taking care of any issues or questions you might have.

If you don't want to live in an apartment complex, check Craigslist. Just be careful over there and don't send money without seeing the place in person first. Also, I hope you realize how large Jefferson Parish is - it extends north-south for 100+ miles, so just because it says it's in Jefferson Parish doesn't mean it's close to New Orleans. If you really want to live in Jefferson Parish, try to limit your search to Metairie and Kenner, they'll be your easiest commute to Delgado. If you can, though, I'd try to find somewhere in Mid City or Lakeview near campus - much better social area for a student.

Ok, the Lakeview area would be Canal Boulevard between Harrison Avenue and Lakeshore Drive, right?

Would you guys consider all of Uptown and the Garden District relatively safe? I've been looking on Craiglist for apartments, and I'm seeing a lot in those areas. Do I need to narrow the areas down to be super safe? Thanks!

We just moved here. We found our apartment through rent.com, but our apartments are also listed on 1stlake.com. Might be worth checking out, there's tons of properties listed in that price range and in different areas around here. We're in River Ridge and really like it.

Old Metairie is really safe and beautiful. Very close to Delgado.
