Which building or development are you referring to?

You must be referring to the ESSEX CROSSING SITE. That's a very special situation because a half of the units that are set aside for people who live in the community board must be given specifically to people who used to live in the properties that were previously on that site -- people who are "former site tenants." Again, that is a very special situation and you will not find that on other properties.

In case you don't know, in most of the these lotteries half of the affordable units are set aside for people who live in the community board (the neighborhood) that the building is in. So, half of the affordable units have to be given to people from the neighborhood first before they can be given to other applicants. But in this case it goes even further and half of the community board units have to go to people who used to live in the buildings that were torn down to build the new building.

Plus, that is so odd to me because the buildings were torn down in 1967. How likely is it that those former residents will find their way to enter the lottery and be income-qualified? But this is off topic for a thread about Cooper.

Really? I thought they were torn down recently. If not, then I totally agree with you!

I'm not sure if this link will work, but apparently Sheldon Silver is blamed for keeping the sites vacant for decades because he didn't want minorities living there.

Again, I apologize for the off topic post. http://https://www.nytimes.com/2017/...ore-ipad-share

So I called HPD like right before Xmas to get an update of some sort and the lady informed me that they are currently working thru the paperwork of the municipal ppl and city workers, I guess they are top priority, she said I should hear back within a month or so.

I'm kinda over all of this it takes too long and its a lot of back and forth so whatever happens happens ill be fine with either outcome.
