Hello good afternoon! I just received a rejection letter today , they say income over limit. That's not my income. I have no idea how they calculated it. Can anyone give me an idea how to do a good appeal letter? My interview was March 28, missed some documents and submitted them on April 1. And today I just received the rejection letter for Yuco brook apartments. Thanks
Get a good highlighter, you're going to need it.
Reprint all financial documents and highlight deposits from your job. Highlight the salary stated on your employer letter. Highlight the income on the tax documents. Do a little bit of math and see what you come up with.
Are you salaried? There should be no way they get a number higher than what's on your employer letter if you are. It does work a little different with hourly.
Be very specific in your appeal. Spell everything out. That's all you can really do.

No, I get pay 16.00 an hour 40 hours a week, I get pay bi weekly. They are saying that im making $42,281. Not even a supervisor makes that amount in my job. I share my bank account with my mother if they counted other deposits as income that's maybe the problem. But the extra deposits are not recurring, irs returns, quick pays etc. Personal transactions not income. Thanks

You need to explain that in your appeal. I got rejected for another development due to 3 random casino payouts from Summer last year, and even with the proof, they still gave it a no go. They calculated $7,800 of "extra" income at my interview for 605 West 42nd Street from the 3 deposits.
Brook Avenue was a little more forgiving in that regard. By the time I got to Brook Avenue interview, I still had one fairly large deposit on my statement, but they didn't even question it. When they look at your statements, they only want to see deposits from your employer, and not much else. Sharing a bank account can prove very problematic.
Like I said, mention all of these things in your appeal. Be very detailed. I calculated a salary of no more than $33,280 based off your hourly wage, if you don't count time off / or Overtime. Did you do Overtime? $10,000 more is a lot of money to come across.

Hello Good afternoon! I wont be able to appeal because they are right. HR at my job explained me that gross income is not show up on w2 or final taxes papers. They income yuco company checked was the one in the bottom of the last paystub of 2015 taxes. They added sick time, vacation time, holidays hours giving that total amount. Sad because I was not even aware that I make all that money. Money that never get to me literally lol. They didn't count the deposit and savings on my bank account because they don't count it if it is not over 5,000. Thanks a lot for your help and I hope this info help others. Good luck everyone!
So, I still haven't heard anything, I don't know how to feel. I'm so flustered, and feeling impatient, and after reading what happened to Lakyky I'd die. & if they ask us to show our income again it'd be a brand new process because since then my husband has changed jobs. Anyone get any phone calls today?
I've got a email stated that I'm still eligible and that I'm waiting for them to reach my log number which is in the 6,000 but Ive been waiting since December.
