Their paperwork is then taken back to the Queens office for further review. They said I would be contacted next week on next steps.

I was told there are 9 tenants that have moved in so far. They weren’t able to show me the amenities because it’s still being worked on. I’m not really impressed with the interior of the apt. You can tell they really cheaped out on the materials. The birch wood cabinets with the stainless steel appliances, fake marble countertops and black and white tiles in the kitchen looks atrocious. The doorman area reminds me of a receptionist desk at a doctor’s office with the back of the monitor and computer exposed.

I will report back next week after I hear back from them.

I have CB preference and my log # is 27,xxx.
Wow. That Kind Of Sucks.. Thought Since It’s Midtown They Would Do a Better Job As Far As Interior .. Was The Interview Good? The Interviewers Were Rude? Attitude? & What AMI Range Do You Fall In ? You Looking For A 1 Or 2 Bedroom.. One More Question , Did They Do A Credit Check ?? Thank You For Sharing Your Experience.

The interview went great. Both specialists were very nice and informative. I fall in the 100% AMI range and qualify for a 2 bdrm. They run your credit after they confirm your eligibility. So if I am eligible, they will call me next week and request a money order for the credit check.

I believe they won’t do a credit check if you can show proof of rent payments.

That’s The Thing , I Dont Have a Receipts Of Paying Rent Cause I Live With My Parents But If They Do Run Credit Check My Credit Is Bad Due to Student Loans But I Be Making Payments Every Month .. I Didn’t Want to To Go Because Of Credit Score .. I Know I Fall For The 80% Range and I’m Just Looking For a 1 Bedroom & I’m Definitely In The CB Preference.. Do You Think I Should Still Go ? Yes! I think you should still go. Also, I read an article that they now exclude student loans and medical bills as a factor to reject an applicant. You can read this on the HPD site, just google “Updated Lottery Guidelines to Reduce Barriers to Housing and Improve Access to Affordable Housing“.

I also think since you live with your parents, you can maybe provide a notarized letter stating you live there and currently not paying rent. But don’t quote me on that. If you are working and able to show them you can afford rent, you should be fine.

Don’t feel discouraged because of the student loans. Unless you have other delinquencies on your credit report, then that might be an issue.

Oh Wow , They Did ? I Have to Read It Cause I Didn’t Know They Didn’t Count Student Loans Or Medical Bills Well That’s Good Because It’s Just My Student Loans .. That’s All .. Im Going to Get My Mom To Provide a Letter That Says I Live With Her.. I’m Still Going to Go Now .. You Made Me Feel A Lil Better , Next Friday Is My Interview 😩. So I Hope This Process Goes Fast. Are You Willing To Take The Apartment If You Qualify? Or The Interior Really Turned You Off ?

Hi All,

I was just wondering how many letters you received before you actually got an apartment. Also, how much time passed between letters? I’ve received 2 letters and looked at 2 apartments the first time and 4 the next. The last letter was postmarked July 3rd and I got it that Friday, July 5th. So it’s been almost 3 months.

I know it depends on actually having available apartments to look at, but I’m curious to see how long anyone who has already moved in had to wait.

Thanks!

Hkcg

Not sure what I’m going to do. I guess wait until next week to even find out if I’m eligible or approved. The interior really does turn me off but I don’t know if I’m being a brat. My current situation is not bad and the building and apt is tasteful with a proper doorman setup. I think this would great for you as a starter apt.

Check our this article and let me know your thoughts. There’s one picture of what the kitchen looks like. https://www.thevillager.com/2018/10/...favors-locals/

This is probably the reason I'm getting "Your file is being processed" - I don't have CB pref. Post pics if you can please.

Is The Whole House Floor Marble Like The Kitchen ? & It Is , I Mean I Cant Be a Brat At This Very Moment Lol. It’s a Good Starter Point Though Just Like You Said. I Know You Gonna Get Approved Though 🤞🏽 You Got This.
