Hi everyone. Perhaps someone can help me, I live in affordable housing 80/20 and my income will increase. Does anyone know how it will effect my eligibility to be on the program. I am afraid whatever I am making will not be enough to cover the market price but I don’t think I am eligible to be on the program.

Does anyone have any experience with getting a higher income once you got the apparent? How did it increase your rent and your eligibility to be on affordable housing program.

Thank you all.

As a general rule, in lottery housing, your rent increases like that of any other rent-stabilized apartment based on the rulings of the rent stabilization board. Once you've signed your first lease, it does not depend on your income.

This is in contrast to, e.g., NYCHA, where rent does fluctuate based on income.

For greater comfort, re-read your lease.
