So I went through the entire interview process. Documents sent to hpd. Come to find out I don't have cb preference. The lottery picked my application because it says I have a disability on my application. The dilemma is I don't have a disability or cb preference for the building. On the housing connect site it says I have no disabilities but somehow on all my applications it says I have a disability. My application is still pending. What should I do?

thats a strange situation. I would just wait and see what they say, I mean they havent rejected you yet and they checked all your documents.

That said, I did have a somewhat similar situation where I had CB preference for a building when I applied but when i was asked to submit docs I was already out of the CB but submitted, either way, they have yet to get back to me.

Perhaps, you are misunderstanding the situation. You have no disability. Housing Connection says you have no disability. Maybe the thing on all the applications that says you have a disability means the opposite and you have misunderstood the meaning. The wording might be confusing you, bad editing can do that.

See if you can get answers before you enter another lottery or have a deadline.

There’s no way you would have gotten as far as getting your file sent to HPD if you were truly being processed with a disability preference, unless the marketing agent has no clue what they are doing. If your application stated you had a disability you would have had to submit supporting documents for such disability, everything for these lotteries must be proven with documents. It’s not as simple as just stating it on your application. I think for the disability preference you must even submit a form completed and signed by your physician.

I agree with wildaboutharry maybe you’re misunderstanding something or perhaps you are correct but the marketing agent is aware that it’s an error. Have they asked throughout the process anything about a disability?

No they didn't ask for any disability paperwork. They did ask for a letter stating where I live.

Yes proof of your current living situation is always requested. Since they did not request any paperwork regarding a disability then is probably safe to say you are most likely not being processed in the disability preference group.
