To the uniformed, what exactly is a "lottery" apt?

This is a great idea.

Call 311 & open a case ticket as a Rent Stabilized official complaint so the HPD/HDC is aware too.

I am not sure. If someone else has played the YouTube card already, send that link to management and politely say that leak problems don’t seem to be isolated to your unit.

I recommend you send your videos and pics to management first. The Press and YouTube have no actual ability to fix your leak problems, the building management does. Also, there are City government resources and elected officials might help you as part of their duties.

You might gain some satisfaction by broadcasting your problems to the internet, but it could damage your relationship with your landlord. If you ever need the help of management with something that is not their problem they might recall how you made them look bad on YouTube.

Certainly, management needs to address the problem of the leaks. I gather you have contacted them. Have you contacted ownership or parent company?

Is there a tenants council? If not, you might start one.

Your story's making me very angry and disgusted with the whole system. These developers get huge tax breaks, and you had to go through so much to get one of these 'affordable' apartments for this?!! I can't believe they didn't comp your rent, even smaller landlords often work with their tenants to come to a fair agreement that works for everyone. They should offer you a different unit altogether! What a shame...
