Hi, I have applied to several lotteries and 3 of them i got back fairly low log# 2, xxx and #7xx (low compared to what i normally get). I know this is pure luck and a waiting game. I realized it doesn't matter when you apply the numbers are random. From reading through different threads, i see having pref gives you a better chance!! I would love to hear from anyone who has received a called back with a high log # and pref and from ones who have low log # and no pref. I'm just praying with time and patience i get called.

Was called with a low log (11) and no preference. Chose not to go through with it.
Wow 11 is really low!! Makes me feel like my number will never get called. I was told to keep positive because a lot of applicants, back out, won't reply or won't qualify.

You kinda have to have that mindset to not go nuts. I mean they were pretty aggressive, even said they called me (did not see a missed call or voicemail) regardless, wouldn't have answered a number I don't know....
I'm hoping I get that lucky for the one I really want....
I’ve been contacted by both developments that i got logs in the 600s for. Both No preferences. I’m living in one of the apartments now, the other i withdrew because my income changed by time i was contacted.
I was also contacted with a 4000 log number, no preferences. I was waitlisted because i was no longer living i NYC when i got contacted.
A few others i was contacted for no preference cant remember those logs, i believe one was in the 7000s but they were in the Bronx so i withdrew
The only cb preference lottery i was contacted for my log was somewhere in the 50,000s. I probably could’ve gotten a unit but i wanted a 2bd, the agent kept being pushy and asking me if i wanted a 1bd , but i was adamant about the 2 bd, next day i received the waitlist email.
No. It depends on the agency that does your paperwork TBH. For the 6 lotteries I’ve been contacted for one didn’t ever reach out to me, another wouldn’t stop emailing/texting me daily reminders to submit paperwork, and the others just sent one email when my log number was reached.
I won a unit from the lottery that has no any preferences, my log was 2XX. I applied in October 2020, got contacted in May 2021, approved by HPD & signed my lease in June 2021, & moved-in in July 2021. The process was 100% done online through HC 2.0 portal & email except when I toured the unit that assigned for me & signed my lease, I had to attend in person.
