How long would everyone say is the process? What if they ask for my documents? What then?
The process is different for everyone from what i read!
After they ask for documents on housing connect, they can contact you to request for missing documents after a short interview. I myself was stuck on this part and then i got e-mail saying theres no more units. They do this with a multiple people in order to have people lined up for the unit.
You will stay stuck on this stage until they get to your log number and actually start processing you. I am not sure what happens next or how long this takes.
You basically want them to request all your documents and get approved by HPD.
I just was approved for a Mini Lottery from housing connect 2.0. My name was randomly entered in because I signed up for "re-rentals" my log # was "9" the process was super quick!!! I was contacted on 4/13/22 and today I was approved by HPD and I sign my lease June 1st. I do not want to say the name of the building but I will share that it is for a studio (550 sq ft) washer and dryer in the unit (I'm so happy about that!!!) stainless steal appliances, dishwasher, large gym, two rooftops, doorman, package room, and the best of it all the rent is $880 located in Williamsburg!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am so happy!!!!
anyone who is giving up hope with these lotteries please don't keep applying ALWAYS!!!
GOD BLESS.
You kind of gave the location away lol. The only lottery in Williamsburg that is that affordable is 5 blocks from me. Congratulations!! I wanted to put in for the waitlist, but they didn't have any apartments in my AMI range. I'm sure you'll love it.
Also did you have to send in income documents for each transaction?
If you mind sharing your log number range too, it’ll be helpful to some!
Good luck!
I didn’t have an interview.
This is the timeline so far:
10/27 got requested to submit documents. Submitted same day: 6 bank statements, 6 paystubs, cash app, Venmo and etc. they were due the 11/10.
11/1 they contacted me via email to submit the bank statements again, and to fill out a end of employment verification, and R5 form. Those forms were due 11/16. Submitted those documents and a clarification for everything yesterday 11/2 with an end of employment verification letter from my old employer.
11/3 they replied back stating they received my documents and if they needed anything else they would contact me and they also thanked me for the clarification of all the documents I submitted.
My log #3*.
I’m honestly just hoping I get this apartment. I’m a situation that is not so healthy living wise and this would be a huge blessing.
BTW building is in the LES.

Thanks for sharing your experience! With log number in the 30's, id say you definitely have a huge chance!
They have to give 10 days to everyone with a lower log number to also submit documents. What they do is, they reach out to the first couple of people with the lowest numbers that submitted some documents to submit more so they can line people up for the apartment, then they weed out people who don't meet by looking at the documents.
I really do like your chances! Congrats on getting that lottery!!
Whats the AMI on that? For example is it 60%/80% or 120%

Thank you! I need all the blessings and prayers for this! But I’m trying not to get my hopes up because every time I do I get disappointed. I’m just waiting for the next step.
My AMI is 60% for this.
Fingers crossed
