Just received the email to submit eligibility documents. Log #107xx with cb and me preferences. I already live in a housing connect apartment though. Such a bummer because this building was my number one. Can I leave one building for another? What would I have to do?

You can leave one HC building for another. You would have to break your current lease, unless the timing lines up perfectly, in the event you are offered a lease with the new building. You would have to reach out to your current management to inquire about the lease termination policy. Usually, you have to give a certain amount of notice (at very least 30 days) and sometimes pay fees such as losing your security deposit or paying a month or so extra rent to end your lease early. Most buildings of some size have a standard policy.

I did this process in 2022, moving from one lotto unit to another. Feed free to DM me if you have specific questions.

Congrats to you btw-

You mind me asking the following:

All AMI with white kitchen too ? Maybe if tenant with higher rent amount get better appliances? I'm only saying this cuz they do that in some lottery buildings. (Which is illegal).
Any studio or 1 bedroom with a balcony ? or washer /dryer inside apartment?
No waterfront view but there is bridge/water view, so any studio or 1 bedroom with water view ?

Wait my log number is lower than yours #65XX and I haven't been contacted to submit. What the hell. Maybe they jumped to you because of CB and ME but still that's a jump!

Preferences always go before non preference logs. It’s not a jump, that’s just how things go w them. Once all the CB/ME preference units are filled, they’ll begin to call people w/o.
