Hi, wondering if anyone faced the similar situation. I moved to a new lottery apartment couple months ago and now found out that I won another one which is $300 cheaper and better location. I had no hope for this one since my log number was very high.
Has anyone faced the situation of breaking the lease they signed couple months ago?
Lottery apartments go fast and im sure they will have no trouble getting someone else to move in. They may just terminate the lease with no penalty, but you will never know unless you ask.

How is it possible that one person wins a lottery apartment twice?

Honestly by the time you get your apartment if you have about 50 applications already pending then its possible multiple buildings might contact you depending on the log # of course.

What ariez said but also, there is no rule against continuing to apply to new lottos once you live in lotto building. People want or need to move for many reasons over the years and of course you'd want to stay in RS if you can. I am in the process of being approved for a new lotto building and once approved, will move out of my current lotto building I've lived in for about 3 years.
You might think this is unfair while there are people trying to win their first lotto apartment, but I'm actually thrilled someone who needs it will be able to move into my 60% AMI unit that no longer meets my needs and I can move in to a 130% AMI unit that does, and is actually a "fair" price for my new income.

The apartment I currently reside in is my 3rd lottery apartment. There is no limit to how many you can apply to, get randomly selected for, and get approved to move into!
I’ve been trying 8 years and finally got email to submit documents for one. I submitted all documents. Waiting to hear back. Must be nice winning multiple lotteries. Lol

What AMI are you? Unfortunately, the program designed to help low and middle income people still favors those making more which is sh*tty. When I won my current apartment at 60% AMI it was like winning a real lottery. Now that I'm in 130% I'm contacted for like 30% of buildings I apply for.
I’m finally at 60% ami now. Prior, I was too high for low and too low for middle. The weirdest thing. But now i feel i can qualify for some.
