If it has a 24 hour doorman I'd go just about anywhere that is within a convenient location to my work. It would have to check more of the boxes and still be a deal for the neighborhood but I wouldn't be opposed.

Yall not slick. This is just another ***** post to broadcast the OP's opinion that NYC is high crime. It's very clear that no one moving down to take a lottery apartment in east new york or brownsville right next to some old projects.

I wouldn't take a risk since one of my friends was on TV as a victim of a hate crime. Luckily, his injury wasn't severe but I was in shock. That could be me I used to live in BK for 5 years and didn't face any serious problems, but COVID changed everything. I didn't feel safe as an Asian and was very stressed out. I moved out right after a hate crime occurred in the subway station near my building

It's so stressed out when random people approached me and talked something in Chinese since COVID because A) I don't speak Chinese but Korean LOL B) It's JUST scary

It seems that way at times but there are plenty of low crime neighborhoods in NYC. Mostly in the outer boroughs. Staten Island, eastern Queens, parts of the north and east Bronx.
