I’m curious if there are any lottery winners of a single person household have gotten a 1 bedroom apartment vs a studio, as I’ve been hearing a lot ppl who say they have gotten a studio over a 1bd
Yes, single person households win 1 bedrooms all the time. For those that were only offered a studio, it is possible all the 1 bedrooms were already taken.
Also keep in the mind the income requirement for a studio usually is lower so maybe they didn’t qualify for a 1 bedroom within the same AMI.
My friend got a large one bedroom lottery apartment. It was a 100% affordable building. The issue is you’re competing with single people, couples and even sometimes families of 3 for one bedrooms.
My colleague won a 1BR unit at 80% AMI at 266 Kent Ave, log #1xx. He got an apartment in higher floor (above 35th floor) with a beautiful view of the river!!! He is one person household so yeah, it's possible

Yes my friend did. They wanted to give her a studio and when she went to do a tour of the building saw that there were several one bedrooms available and inquired about them (same price as the studio that they never even mentioned to her I’m guessing because they wanted someone with more income) she ended up getting the one bedroom for 1600 at the 50 Penn building.
Yes, I won a one bed lottery apartment and moving in next month. I believe in some cases , it depends on what is available. I was contacted for about 4 other buildings , and viewed 3 all were 1-bedroom apartments.
