Read that AGAIN--
THE LANDLORD OFFERED!
I didn't come up with this on my own.
And if it were such a big deal the LL would NOT have offered.
Like nightcrawler said..it's a business.
....a business deal.

I legally rented an apt from the LL....the LL wanted me to move out so he could charge more rent.....offered me money.....I took the money.

Where, on WHAT PLANET am I wrong?
I see nobody wants to explain the lack of services I hadda put up with for years BECAUSE of my low rent status.
Yeah...I'm the crook.

OK, so let me see if I now get it.

He offered you a buy out, you didn't want to at that point, so you stayed and paid what ever the rent was at the time.

Then when you wanted to leave you asked him to buy you out and he did?

Is this the jist of the whole thread?

So now you have a house and you are gone.

I think most of us here did not realize the the 2 of you are somehow one.....

But now putting aside my "bi-polar", (as you pointed out) tendencies, I do hope that you have some sort of problem in your home that a homeowner would run into, so you will know how the LL felt when he had to make certain repairs.

It isn't always fun.

-no hot water {building problem--not exclusive to me}
-no heat {building problem--not exclusive to me}

party time
-Broken window in kitchen and bathroom that went un- fixed for 2 years.
LL pointed out that when we move the windows would be replaced, otherwise the owner of the building wouldn't repair it BECAUSE we didn't pay enough rent for such a 'renovation'.
Called 311--filed a complaint--window fixed shortly after.

-Broken fridge---leaked water from freezer section for months. Called them weekly. They replaced it only after I called 311 housing dept.
"New" fridge had missing shelves, and never quite cooled...then it died all together. Was told I would have to buy my own--and LEAVE it if I ever moved.
Called 311---another violation issued to owner...another used fridge installed.

--Refused to paint apt as law states they are required.
Never got that one resolved.

--MASSIVE leak under kitchen sink. Required them to tear up the floor under the sink and replace pipes.
Took 19 [YES--19] weeks for them to come back and replaster the hole.
Called 311---another violation issued.

--Front door had broken hinges...had to force the door closed with my foot.
Finally the hinge came off all together.
They came to fix it and only fixed ONE....that went unfixed for months.

I can go on an on...
These are just the ones in the last year I was there.
Forget the verbal BS from them I had to deal with EVERY time I called the office.
Never got a person---just voicemail..which never went answered.
90% OF THE CONVERSATIONS I'VE HAD WITH THE OWNER WERE ONLY BECAUSE I TOOK TIME OFF WORK AND WENT TO THE OFFICE AND COMPLAINED.
What's that about?
My neighbor next door and I were quite friendly, she was not rent-stab-and has told me all of the comments the LL told her about the tenants that were rent stab.

I wasn't the only one suffering.
They made it obvious we werent getting service because we paid so little rent.

And it's NOT JUST ME....
Read the reviews on Sky Mgmt:
My roof has been leaking for over a month now, and they just bumble around with excuses.--YELP.COM

"Absolutely corrupt, the worst people I've dealt with after 20 years in NYC and several buildings"--CitySearch.com

"This is typical, nasty NYC Property Management co., poor service and repairs when REALLY needed, illegal construction and rentals..."---Yahoo/local.com

There is an ENTIRE website created by tenants to complain about them:
ShalomTenants.org

Named one of NYC's WORST SLUMLORDS

Well it sounds like life is great, you have your house in East Wepumka, population 400 and now can live the rest of your life watching Maury paternity tests. Congrats..why are you still on NYC city-data? If East Wepumka does not have a section yet, you can request it from city-data.

Good day and good luck.

Makes no sense. Pointless comment.

Why not?
...and you'll notice I didn't bump up this thread, somebody else did.
So...because you now see that I gave exact examples of what I had to endure--AND I WASN'T ALONE--, rather than continue arguing your point, you decide I shouldn't post here anymore huh?

You cannot argue your point because your wrong.

You lost lots of merit with your last post Sobro.
Judging by the POSITIVE reps {and comments} both of these accounts have gotten since this thread [and the other one] started, I see I'm not the only one that understands where I was coming from.
I like this comment the best:
"Don't listen to these people, if it was them they'd do everything possible to get the money" Something like that.

Enjoy yourself.
