I've been having a big craving for something vegetarian lately but I just don't know any vegetarian places to go to that are good and priced fairly to inexpensive. If its a bit pricey, I rather it be worth my money.
Besides the vegetarian Indian spot Ayurveda around 94th-96th street in the Upper East Side, I don't know any other hot spot vegetarian places. \
Can anyone who is vegetarian or eats vegetarian inform me? Thanks.

Try Madras Saravana Bhavan on Lexington Ave. I ate at that location once. It is actually a global chain. I have tried all of the U.S. locations actually and the quality is pretty high.
I'm vegan and I dont' really go to vegetarian resturants, . . if there are any left.
Angelica's Kitchen is probably the most famous one in the village. Was there is 1989 I think.
Also, the kitchens or "deli section" of health food stores have some good stuff.
Try "Gary Null's Uptown whole foods" on B'way and 83 I think.
I've been a vegetarian for several years, and by far, my favorite vegetarian restaurant (and arguably the best vegetarian restaurant in all of NY) in the city is called Red Bamboo, down in the Village on West 4th St between 6th Ave and MacDougal. It's reasonably priced, especially if you go for their lunch specials Monday to Friday, 12:30 to 4:00pm. My favorite is the soul chicken sandwich (their fake meats are amazing). Lots of reviews on yelp about them too: Red Bamboo - Greenwich Village - New York, NY. Definitely worth paying a visit to there, you'll thank me later.
