In general, internships are about making contacts not gaining experience. Few interns are given anything meaningful to do. It's more of an extended hiring process to evaluate your work ethic and how you interact with professionals. Any vaguely creative job in New York will generate thousands resumes within minutes of being posted online. How can anyone possibly evaluate such numbers? It's much easier to go with someone you know, i.e., the intern.

No one at FOX will be impressed with your internship at some other network. If you were good, the other network would have hired you.

If you don't want to do another internship, you should gain practical experience. Consider volunteering as PA on student films and other independent projects.

Honestly you're kind of wasting your time with the old platforms. Have you done some research on internet based shows/news programs that you wouldn't mind working with. You might have to intern again while working a day job. I'd really focus on new media outlets for awhile and see if you can get an in there. A lot of new media folk don't hold to the old it's who you know game and are more willing to go with someone who simply shows they have the passion, drive and talent.

Also keep getting out there. Go to industry mixers, film festivals, etc. But while there don't come off as networking. Just be yourself and show that you're generally interested in/ passionate about the field. People are more willing to let their guard down and get to know you if they don't feel like they're being latched onto by someone who's hoping to get something out of a relationship with them.

As for the comment someone else made about you're not getting a job out of one of those internships I say BS. Having never met you or worked with you there's no way anyone could make that assertion. Journalism has always been a tough field (esp. broadcast journalism) and with the economy the way it is and the internet kicking the old media's butt there a tons of well deserving interns who don't get job offers because there's simply no budget to hire them.

So get creative and think of different ways to get your foot in, network but tastefully and remember you love it and if you keep striving for it eventually there's no option but to achieve your goals.

Great advice, AlyssDiablo.

Can you tell us where to find information about industry mixers?
