its a decent area..not to bad, not to good in terms of crime..stay away from the side blocks and NYCHA developments u shuld b ok...but honestly theres nothing special bout the bruckner plaza..if ur a neighborhood native then its a decent shopping center but if ur not from around here I dnt see a real point of coming here to shop..

Bruckner Plaza area is in the nicer part of Soundview. The area around Story Ave is kinda grimey as well as the projects, but it's mostly 1-2 fam homes w/ working class folks. Some big-box stores (KMart, Toys R Us Old Navy) and lots of bargain stores (Conway, Party City, Key Food). Personally I prefer Bay Plaza, but if you don't have a car or if it's too far for you, then Bruckner should be good enough.

i live right down the block from bruckner plaza. Its extremely safe so safety should be your last concern. It is however, pretty plain. Just your basic stores, nothing really special

Driving on WPR in the area SUCKKKKKSSSSSS!

I know I do it everyday. Shopping is ok, most employees are well below what most would consider "decent". Alot of ghetto people frequent the buisnesses there.

Not dangerous, but don't expect you items to be bagged(seriously).

Traffic is really bad there, and during the holidays you are totally screwed. It is not a pretty plaza by any stretch, very basic and bland. After all this time I anticipated a major beautification of the entire plaza but it never happened. It looks frozen in time circa 1982. I am way down south so I don't shop there..I go to the Gateway Mall...a much nicer mall with better shops. Target beats Kmart all the time!

BEWARE!..just dont park your car with bags-presents-seen in plain view..like back seat and walk off!..you might return to a broken window..and you gotta put up with the young kids from the projects-beggin,and panhandeling.

that is true beware where you park and guard your purse and wallet very well. They will take it and you won't even notice.
