What a great video. So much history that is in danger of being lost.

The way the host spoke was superb. It used to be that everyone in New York spoke like that but no more. His speech was like a golden mean that hit the sweet spot.

Now we have this horrific dichotomy of speech in New York. It is either too hard or too soft. On the soft side you have those nasal, kazoo voiced upper class dorks that speak with female inflection. These geeks are everywhere now. One part sanctimonious blow hard another part gender neutral coward these people are awful to listen too and often only speak of themselves and what kind or organic product they are going to acquire next to save the world.

Other than these village people rejects we have a city littered with these completely ignorant knuckle dragging morons that spend much time consuming degenerate media. Listen to these people talk on the train and they have to include niigah in every sentence.

This guy conducting the tour is a real New Yorker, he speaks clearly and properly like a New Yorker should. It was a pleasure to listen to him. Everyone should talk like that; it should be taught in schools and only people that talk like that should be allowed on TV to spread that accent from coast to coast.

HE has an authentic Bronx accent like Regis Philbin. The accent is slowly dying and fading in its place is either southern influenced ebonics and generic midwestern English from the arrivals of transplants and viewing cable tv.

Also notice there is not alot of burned out buildings Mott Haven, but the general depictipnn of the South Bronx is burned out hollow shell or a bombed out version of Dresden.
i agree many of these young kids that live in the bronx today and are influencing it negatively don,t have a clue of the history and meaning of the bronx and mott haven is sad but i am here to change that.

Look at this on wikipedia, the once great teatro Puerto Rico in Mott Haven on the Corner of Brown place and 138th street. That place has some great history but decline of the niegborhood ended its legacy!
