When I was growing up (70s/80s) there was a guy who routinely used to get on the train wearing a gold jumpsuit and dark sunglasses and would play the saxophone, REALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLY badly, until people gave him money to stop.

And in the 90s it was the "8 fake duracell batteries for 1 dollar" guy

Who do you remember?

That saxophone guy was around in the early 2000s. Saw him on the E train at Lexington all the time.

Fat guy wearing glasses and with long beard who hands out printed gibberish about End of the World.

Current favorite are black men who bang on congas.
Fun is seeing one get shot down like boxer George Frazier when trying to get a working woman's phone number.

Man on the F train about 3 weeks ago- dressed from head to toe as the Joker from batman.. Face paint and all. Was having conversations with himself about his encounter with Batman at the courthouse that day.

lol it was pretty funny, but it was also like 1 am which made it a bit weirder. The F runs from Coney Island Brooklyn through part of Manhattan and to Jamaica Queens. He got on around West 4th and was still there when I got off on 57th. It runs up 6th ave over there.

Hmm... let's see... The old lady in her 70s with black-rimmed glasses dressed in outrageous pastel colors and Dora the Explorer pants and matching bag who plays her bizarre homemade instrument on the N/Q trains in Astoria and sometimes in Manhattan. I've seen her twice now in the past week. She's so terrible at playing too, bless her heart, and she doesn't even know it.

I've also seen the person that eek is talking about on a downtown 6 train (I'm pretty sure we're talking about the same person, but maybe not), he's absolutely insane. He said he was "sent directly from God down to Earth to collect all of the 'beautiful women' to send back up to heaven with [him], and no 'ugly women'," all the while holding his folder in front of his face. He kept repeating that same phrase over and over, and mostly everyone was laughing at him.
