Do you think that it would remain the most dominant skyline in the world? China and Dubai are building taller buildings.

Are there plans for new skyscrapers in Manhattan?

I think it's either New York or Hong Kong that have the highest concentration of skyscrapers.

Manhattan is going harder than its ever gone before. I was once frustrated with my city for not keeping up with the asian city's. But i was mistaken, new york will add 7 thousand plus footers by 2015. Just the fact that midtown is adding two new supertalls(vornado by ESB and the moma tower) shows you that nyc is not playing games when it comes to these skyscrapers. Lets not talk about the three supertalls going up in the new WTC. New York is going hard right now

Manhattan will probably be surprised by what the NJ Gold Coast constructs by 2025. Newport still has room for at least 12 more High rises , The Journal SQ redevelopment plan calls for at least 3 super talls and up 20 high rises. Hoboken might build 12 high rises over the yard. Fort Lee is planning more high rises along with other cities. It may not be a Manhattan in 30 years but it will be something.

A lot of the skyscrapers in Asian cities are really just very tall projects (Stuy-town with four times the height). We don't want those kinds of buildings. They're ugly, oppressive and depressing.
