its not a race issue more of a class issue.
Where did you get this BS? LOL!

Sure the blacks are angry about the monetary issues you cite. But you can be sure that if poorer whites where moving in, they'd be equally upset. They just wouldn't have a politically correct excuse.

Now, why anyone would want to move into the very definition of "ghetto" in most of the rest of the country and gentrify it, is beyond me.

The only way you could ever really fix it, is to plow it under. And even then, the rot would still be in the ground. It'd be like building a house on a sealed over landfill. The rot is still under the foundation.

It's rather hard to restore a place after people have mucked it up.

Because Black people do not rule any economic systems in the world, even in places where they are the majority, most social scientist, would concur that Black people cannot be racist, they can only be prejudiced. There has to be a level of power to be racist over the group you are prejudiced against.

Because Black people do not economically control Harlem, they can rant and rave all they want, they cannot control who lives there.

Let's move on to another subject.
Would you read your quote again... The part about "inherent differences" and "one's own race is superior"...

Blacks can most certainly have those traits.

Heck, first chapter of Larry Elder's book (he's black) "Ten Things You Can't Say in America" is titled, "Blacks are More Racist than Whites".

Given their achievements in things like sports, it's probably a justified attitude. How much of that goes back to "breeding" practices of slave owners in the U.S. vrs. how much of it goes back to africa could be an interesting avenue of research, but same outcome. For example the NFL is more than half black.

Blacks harm each other much more than they harm others from different groups. Read up on those aspects of the situations, and challenges over there. you already have a lot of knowledge, read more on the hows and whys of the situations. you may still not agree with the definition of racism, but you will come to understand that the black leadership is used, and not really in charge.

I'm not minimizing the prejudice and hatred, just trying to explain the use of the word racism especially when it comes to harlem. blacks don't control the economics of harlem and never have, so it really doesn't matter if they rant and rave, it is probably too late now for many to buy, as you stated in an earlier post.
Let's get the definitions straight here. There's at least 3... of which at least 2 can apply to blacks in the U.S. or anyone, irrespective of their power.

rac·ism

 /ˈreɪsɪzəm/ Show Spelled[rey-siz-uhm] Show IPA
–noun 1. a belief or doctrine that inherent differences among the various human races determine cultural or individual achievement, usually involving the idea that one's own race is superior and has the right to rule others.

2. a policy, system of government, etc., based upon or fostering such a doctrine; discrimination.

3. hatred or intolerance of another race or other races.

This "The Poor Blacks" thing is BS. They did go from being the most oppressed in the U.S, slavery, Jim Crow.... to guess what... the biggest problem demographic.

Unfortunately, they proved the racists of the pre-civil rights era to be somewhat correct. Well at least those generations too old to remember the fight for civil rights.

And just for the record... just about everyone who's poor, but has worked hard and tried not to be is angry. Whites included. Anyone who's been paying attention knows the class gap has been widening for ages... and especially accelerated after the '87 market crash.

I've been asking for 25 or 30 years... if wages don't keep up with inflation... and houses appreciate faster than inflation... who's going to be able to afford a house after sufficient time?

So yeah, both are still alive and well today, racism and classism, LOL!

I think it's only logical that rents in Harlem will continue to climb just as all rents have. It's the only area of Manhattan left that could still be considered a bargain, and remotely attainable by middle class/non wealthy families.

What? Surely you haven't been to Harlem before.....
it's not even the worst neighborhood in NYC.....
you seem to think it's like 1/2 of Detroit or something like that,...

I like to post the theories that are outside the box, that are discussed by the academist, and see if posters agree or not. I just pick a side and argue it, whether I agree or not sometimes.

But basically you are preaching the same sermon I've been preaching on this forum for a few year now. Thanks.

Going to a point mentioned in a post before, do you know the percentages of whites and blacks in the NFL? It seems pretty 50-50 to me. haha

Funny how whenever White people talk about the killings in Zimbabwe, they never mention (or fail to realize) the fact that White people in Zimbabwe claiming land disproportionate to their population had racist implications to begin with, and they had a strong legacy of oppressing the natives. Yes, hate will beget hate. That's why those farmers died. As if White people just came there and legally and fairly acquired land....that conflict was BOUND to happen. And let's be frank- WHITE PEOPLE STARTED IT. When you act greedy and treat people like ****, they eventually learn to return the favor.

PLEASE.

Does this go on? I'm black/hispanic and yes, that could be racism among the black folks if that's true....
I say could be since they could be more concerned about whites, who tend to have more $, driving up rents and property values....
as long as they complain about upper middle class or rich blacks doing the same thing, there's no racism involved. If not...
yes that is racist.
There was always whites in Harlem... Ever heard of "Italian Harlem"? one of the roughest parts of the city, still plenty of Italians there too, on my Italians friends was born, raised and currently lives there..its from East 113th to East 119th.

Yet you cry about the Blacks being killed by Arabs in Darfur and expect Whites and other races to bail you out and you write a post like that...
