^^^FYI,

is not a express bus, and the other route mentioned.

This is an express route:

For $5 per trip, there better be a comfortable bus.

I take the train to/from the South Bronx daily, and it's usually fine. If it's late, my boyfriend walks me home from the station. If it's not late, but its dark out, I talk to someone on the phone while I walk so I don't get harassed as much.

Depends on the area, I guess.

I agree that you will be fine traveling any way you go. The Bronx's reputation is far worse than it is today...it will be awhile before it is lived down. You'll be fine!

I used to take the #4 to the Bronx when I was working late in the Village area and never had a prob. People mind their own business.

009- not sure if it was my post you were referring to, but I'm referring to the following express bus lines:

BxM10 - Williamsbridge/Morris Park - Bronx via Madison Ave
BxM11 - Wakefield - Bronx via Madison Ave

You referred to the Bx11 and the Bx12 as express bus routes.

Ok...I forgot the m...my oversight. However, it's obvious the BX11 (if there's such a thing) and BX12 don't run in Manhattan. I stand corrected.

Wrong again.

The Bx11 runs to Washington Heights and the Bx12 to Inwood.
