I am living in an unsubsidized apartment and am paying close to $1300 /month rent plus gas and electricity. I am also a college graduate up to neck in student loans. I will admit that my credit is less than perfect which prevents me from getting into affordable housing. Does anyone have any suggestions, looking for the NY area any boro at this point? This is where my family resides.

According to some of your other posts on other threads, you live in a mitchell lama building ,have an MBA,have been thinking about moving to Greenville, have been trying to bribe people to sublet their NYCHA apartments to you and have been shopping for a co op in Brooklyn ........ all at the same time ,so I am not sure what to believe or how to respond.
You are a very busy girl!

Why on earth would you need subsidized housing if you have an MBA ?

I would start by moving into a less expensive apartment or into a room in a shared apartment.

Why are you living in a $1300.00/mo apartment if you have a lot of debt and can't afford 1,300.../mo ?There are plenty of neighborhoods in the city with studio apartments in the $800 to $900/mo range.

To begin, I have been looking for various options to deal with the fact that I have a job that doesn't pay enough for the student loans that came with the MBA, they are not free. I planned to move to NC when I graduated but the job was not paying enough. Just because you have an MBA does not mean that jobs walk up to you and you will definitely get them. I am working on acquiring a better paying job, while looking for cheaper housing. It is called planning. As i stated, if you have any suggestions or advise please let me know. If not no thanks.

Well,I did make a suggestion.Perhaps you missed it ?

The suggestion was(is) that you either find a studio apartment in the 800 to 900/mo range or share an apartment with another(s) where your share would be somewhere in the 700 to 900/mo range.

This is something you could do right away and have 500 more per month to help pay off your bills or to make life a little easier until your income increases substantially.
