Super old thread guys, but for the record, living for free with relatives drastically changes the scenery. $25k sucks but if it gives you a foothold and can combine it with it a part-time crap job doing something else, that's all you need to get started. That's a starting salary for part time also...4-6 months later you're "experienced" and can qualify for better-paying full time jobs.

You could gain experience and get a full-time job somewhere else though. I guess living with relatives for free makes it easy to accept such a crap salary, however.
