BART charges by distance and stops. NY'rs would have a fit if they had to pay that way. Its like $1.75 to go one stop and $5.35 to go the furthest distance each way.

I understand it's $13 roundtrip just for a bridge, however it is the cost you pay to live in the city, and specifically living in Staten Island. It sucks, but it's not one of the most expensive cities in the wealthiest country in the world for nothing! If I were forced to pay that amount everytime I wanted to leave the Bronx, for example, I would be using alot more public transportation or moving.

"The new toll rates will take effect on Dec. 30. The cash toll at the MTA's major crossings will rise from $5.50 to $6.50, and from $11 to $13 at the Verrazano. The E-ZPass toll will rise from $4.57 to $4.80 at major crossings, and from $9.14 to $9.60 at the Verrazano."

Hey I didnt know that the Verrazono was $9.14 with e-pass, all this time I was thinking i was paying $11!!!!

So -- all you cash paying people causing traffic jams at the tolls will maybe now see some sense and get E-Z Pass!!

Totally agree! Basically it's a no-win situation all around. Bloomturd doesn't want people driving in so he closes down streets to create pedestrian walkways. Then an MTA Public Transportation Rate Hike is approved, followed by the LIRR and Metro North rate increases. Finally the Bridge and Tunnel tolls are increased. Like I said, it's a no-win situation for commuters no matter how we travel.

His name is Bloomberg. When you call him Bloomturd it only makes you look foolish/immature, and people will just ignore you and your opinion.

LOL, You call him Bloomturd, I call him Dumberg....I guess it is a matter of preference...

We call him these names to let other people know how we feel about him, not because we are stupid.

But seriously, when my family first moved to Staten Island back in 1965, we paid 50 cents for the bridge, you have to admit, 13 dollars is a bit excessive to cross a bridge......

I am sure the poster knows what his name is. The poster was obviously making a name change for negative purposes. All of which i agree with, and am neeither stupid or foolish.
