Subsidized housing programs sometimes pay the new security deposit amount plus any broker's fee. You should look into that.

Thanks, will do.

I spoke to my landlord and he was very kind about the entire thing and said it wouldn't be a problem as far as cutting the lease short and finding a new tenant, or getting the security back (as long as we didn't damage the apartment). Thats pretty much the best possible outcome, and I'm very thankful for it. He basically said he didn't like any drama and as long as they can re-rent it on time everything will be fine
