I am looking for a gym with no contract in Brooklyn or Manhattan.

There's one I know of right by the Sutter Avenue-Rutland Road train station (3 train). Right by the Metro PCS store.

However, I don't know anything about the quality of equipment or anything, as I don't use it. But, I know it's there.

Theres a large city gym that opened up in chelsea. 75$ per year for NYC residents. swimming pool, tennis, basketball etc..

Planet Fitness. Downtown brooklyn I think they are opening one in canarsie too. $10 a month, no contract. The only downside is that they don't have any classes but the gym is big, 3 floors, and it's clean. You may have to wait to use the weight machines but you never have to wait to use the cardio machines.
