SO I hear it is hard to find a job in NYC... Im moving next month. My main job will be as a hair stylist but starting out I will need a second job.

Are there waitressing jobs available??? or are they even hard to find???

I know there is a recession but Id think there would still be jobs in restaurants.

They are fairly difficult to find in a place where you'll make decent money because those places only hire people who have "NYC Restaurant" experience....it's a chicken & egg thing, how do you get experience if no one will hire you?

All I will say is that lying- even to get a silly waitressing job- will ALWAYS catch up with you. The NYC restaurant industry is fairly small....a small handful of people own A LOT of the restaurants and they all know each other.....if you must do this, don't put any random Italian restaurant on your application....they always know (or are related) to one another!!
