Hi we are new in manhattan and we are moving into our apartment on the weekend. We need to pick up a new HD TV and hopefully have it by the weeeknd so we can get cable connected.

Any advice??

Buy it online and have it shipped- Best Buy, Walmart, Amazon, Dell, etc.

You can go to J&R down on Park Row. I've had really good luck with them (the TV that I bought 3 years ago from them is still going strong!). You can get it delivered either same day or next day, I think - they use Urban Express for local deliveries. Up at the top, there's a link for "NYC Stores" that gives directions and stuff.

I agree that J&R is well worth the trip, as would be B&H Photo Video.

B&H Photo Video Digital Cameras, Photography, Camcorders

Adorama also has televisions, and would be worth a look, too.

Digital cameras, all other cameras and everything photographic from Adorama Camera

Adorama and B&H are not open on Saturdays because of religious observance.

They also close very early most Fridays (usually 1pm, though this may vary depending on time of year).
