For a long time I though the fictional family lived in Jackson Heights. Then I was told they live in Astoria. Now the article referenced above claim the fictional family lived in Corona, with the real-life family that inspired the show living in Jackson Heights.

My guess is the filming took place in Astoria, if the film studio was there at the time.

Even that seems to be changing. Glendale and Rego Park have large nonwhite populations.

The remake would have to be either in Howard Beach, or Staten Island below the expressway. Or the suburbs.

All in the Family was filmed at CBS Television City in Los Angeles. Before a life studio audience <cue piano music>.

I remember an episode where Archie's guest cannot make some gizmo work and says something like "maybe the air is different here in Astoria."
